Committee Reports

Newsletter
Most of the editorial is in.  The article on John Boudreau’s concert has not yet been received from John Close.  Nancy will e-mail an article to Bill on the most recent police precinct meeting. The newsletter will go into production next week.

Website:
Maria has invited John Boudreau to talk about the Website at the May board meeting.

Events:
The events committee will meet on April 2.   We will not have a spring fund raiser in 2008.  The schedule of events includes a Tag Sale on May 31 and June 1, the Annual Meeting on June 4, and a Members Event on September 21.  Planning will also begin for the 2009 House Tour.

Mission Statement:
Using the mission statement from the 1960’s by laws, a committee will meet to update the statement, and present the new statement at the April board meeting.  Maria will send an e-mail regarding the place and time of the meeting.

Marie Rama is hosting a meeting on April 3rd, at 7:30pm for Wendy Nadel, Executive Director of Yonkers Partners in Education.  Ms. Nadel will explain the mission of YPIE and speak about the organization's short term wish list which includes College and Career Access, Family Literacy, and Community Engagement.  All interested parties are invited to attend.

A suggestion was made that we buy a membership at the Hudson River Museum in lieu of placing a journal ad.  Maria will find out if one way is more beneficial to the museum than the other.

Welcome Wagon:
Maria will edit and revise the Park Hill Residents Guide, which is included in the gift bags.

Park Hill Land Conservancy:
The PHLC is considering sponsoring an Environmental Day.  Maria suggested combining it with the Annual Meeting.  Some ideas included having a speaker from the native plant center or an environmentalist speak about natural products and/or pesticides.

The PHRA and the PHLC will each have a table at the Tag Sale.

Sutherland Park cleaning is scheduled for April 26.

The next PHRA meeting will be on  Monday, April 28.

Respectfully submitted,
Mattie Bialer
